Multi-Building Training Centre
(L3 Harris London Training Centre):

Location: Crawley

Size: Approx. 150,000 Square Feet

Duration: 6 Weeks
 

About the project: L3 Harris have built a brand-new airline training centre and production facility for the manufacture of aircraft simulators near Gatwick Airport, south of London.

The two new operations will be co-located on a five-acre site near Gatwick, with a combined volume of 150,000 sq. Ft.

 

L3 CTS plans to install eight ‘RealitySeven’ full-flight simulators in the training facility, including two Airbus A320 and two Boeing 737NG narrowbody devices. In addition to full-flight simulators, plans called for equipping the training centre with fixed-based simulators, classrooms, meeting rooms and a restaurant. The production facility will provide manufacturing capacity for 30 simulators per year and will include office space for more than 300 employees.

 

Having previously supplied to other locations across the UK, Planet Business Interiors Ltd were awarded the contract for supply of all the furniture to the buildings which included 340 workstations, 40 meeting rooms, 7 classrooms. 7 executive suites, 1 executive boardroom, 3 breakout areas, 1 large cafeteria and 2 reception areas.

Office Relocation (Zetica)

Location: Eynsham, Oxfordshire

Size: Approx. 13,500 Square Feet

Duration: 2 Weeks.

About the project: Zetica Ltd had outgrown their existing facility which presented the opportunity for the team to create an environment which reflected their culture as a business. Working closely with the company director and her team, Planet Business Interiors Ltd designed a new workspace including bespoke desking, store wall and a beautiful bespoke reception desk. Here is the feedback from Mandy Eriksen (Financial Director of Zetica Limited)

 

"Zetica Limited really benefited from the Planet Interiors service approach in designing and finalising office designs. The building the company moved into a former warehouse and in order to create a good working environment we had to strike the right balance between company requirement and creating a good atmosphere for employees.  The team at Planet took us by the hand, furnished us with plenty of renders of their design ideas and were very pro-active when it came to the installations of the furniture, very much keeping our objections and needs at the forefront of their thinking.  They remained in touch when the project was finished to ensure our working environment was as was designed. Business School Refurbishment (Saïd Business School)

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire

Duration: 1 Week
 

The project: Oxford Saïd is the University of Oxford's centre of learning for undergraduate and graduate students in business, management and finance. Over time, Planet Business Interiors Ltd were asked to design and supply furniture for diverse meeting and breakout spaces. The feedback from Tim Royal at Said Business School was wonderful to hear:

 

We chose to work with Planet Business Interiors because we were looking to work with a company who could supply us with a diverse range of furniture and that could understand our concept here and be sensitive to our needs as a business. Building Refurbishment (Bio Techne):

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Duration: Ongoing
 

About the project: Over time Bio Techne have been refurbishing their workspace one area at a time. Throughout, Planet Business Interiors Ltd have supported Bio Techne with upgrades to multiple meeting areas and break out areas, installed a bespoke reception desk, and most recently upgraded over 50 workstations to height adjustable ‘SitStand’ desks as part of a boost to wellness in the workplace.

University Common Room (Jesus College, Oxford):

Location: Oxford

Duration: 1 Week

About the project: As part of our ongoing relationship with the colleges of the Oxford University, we were contacted by Jesus College to refurbish one of their Junior Common Room areas. On a modest budget and limited time frame we were able to turn around the project in time for the start of the summer term.

 

Our space planners were able to maximise the space without over-crowding the area. We supplied bespoke sofas, tables, café chairs, high benches and stools to match in with the colour scheme set by the colleges in house artistic consultant.

University Classroom (Oxford University School of Geography):

Duration: 1 Day

About the project: As part of our ongoing relationship with the colleges of the Oxford University, we were contacted by the School of Geography who were looking for an extremely versatile chair for one of their classrooms. The chair needed to nest, be stackable, on castors and fitted with a movable tablet.

 

At the time of enquiry, there was no such chair in the UK marketplace which presented a challenge. Fortunately, Planet Business Interiors Ltd were able work with one of our manufacturing partners to design a chair to the client's specification. The new Prima Nest and Stack chair has a tip up seat permitting it to nest neatly when not in use, can be fitted with a large anti- panic tablet that folds away, will stack up to at least 8 high even with the tablet fitted, comes with either glides or castors, or a combination, for maximum flexibility. This is the perfect chair for universities, colleges and training environments. It’s the only one of its kind in the UK!

Office Relocation (Groves):

Location: Thame

Size: Approx. 6,500 Square Feet

Duration: 2 Weeks.
 

Due to expansion, Groves and Banks have moved into a new purpose build facility and need to supply workspace to accommodate 60 employees and allow for further expansion.

 

Planet Business Interiors Ltd planned, supplied and installed bench desking, seating bespoke storage solutions and ergonomic solutions within an office space to seat 60 people in a mix of open plan and cellular offices, breakout areas with high and low tables and multiple meeting areas.

Customer Waiting Area

Location: Wellingborough

Duration: 1 Day

 

Due to expansion, an existing client in the food services industry built a new purpose-built customer area. With the building work underway the Planet team came in to measure up the space and get an in depth understanding of the client's objective. The final project included bespoke reception desk, boardroom and seating areas. All delivered on time and within budget.
